I know there are some highpower, particularly service rifle shooters out here. That being said, have any of you folks used the CLE rear sight assemblies? I will be starting my highpower career the third week of February (100yd/m reduced), and would like to hunt for a rear sight assembly that won't break my wallet. Any and all feedback on these units will be much appreciated.

Jim

There's nothing wrong with CLEs sight and it is very accurate. I prefer the way that John Holliger builds his, but he must have your upper to do the work. His steel pins allow the system to work straight up and down easily. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with Frank's (CLE) rear sights.

FWIW, if you will ONLY shoot at 100 yards, its probably not worth it to upgrade a rear sight...however...100 yards is hardly Highpower as its intended, so plan to shoot XC (across the course)!

Right on, Steve.

Thanks for the input, and I will be ordering that rear sight assembly as I do plan to shoot across the course at some point.

For now, I will attend the reduced course matches because there aren't any XC matches in my area. The reduced matches are in San Luis Obispo, about 250 miles from where I reside. I figure that I can visit my girlfriend and college buddies as well as introduce myself to highpower.

There is a 600yd NRA range in the works out in Ridgecrest, and till that's finished it'll have to be reduced matches for yours truly.

Small world, I was just in SLO Thurs-Sat last week. A reduced is the only thing in a 250 mile radius? Guess I won't be moving there (I wouldn't due to the laws anyway!)

FWIW, I believe that there's nothing better than the reduced course for beginners. Get your positions down perfectly, then you won't wonder about them on XC courses.

Steve,

Funny how things work out. I was in SLO last weekend but wasn't able to attend the reduced match (held every third saturday of the month).

Thanks for the advice, and here goes nothing!
