Don't shoot it much but I should shoot it more. Put 40 rounds 6.5x55 through it last week.

This is by far the most accurate rifle with iron sights I have ever fired. Even better than my Garand.

VERY Nice 1899 Oberndorf Swede. The Mauser factory at Oberndorf on the Neckar river (what the (A/N) means) only made the m/96s during 1899 and 1900. They only made 16,246 during 1899.

My 1900 m/96 is the most accurate open sight rifle I have ever fired. The only iron sight rifle that I can actually shoot tighter is my Swede CG-63 target rifle with aperture sights. And of course they were built on trued m/96 actions.

Wow What a pretty Swede...6.5x55 is my favorite all time caliber. I have more rifles in that caliber than I can shake 2 sticks at. Love my CG-63, my Ljungman, my Norweigian Krag, all my 96's, and have killed my last 24 bucks with a sporter swede. That 99 you have is a real winner

Mauser 96's are some beautiful rifles, in my opinion rivaled only by Gewehr 98's. I'd definitely say that 6.5x55mm is the superior cartridge though.
