Having purchased a ROA, one of the first things I did was to totally strip it down for cleaning which took most of an afternoon. The action was noticeably smoother after the cleaning and lubrication. How often should this complete cleaning be done? I would assume it is based on number of rounds fired that you have to go beyond only removing/cleaning the cylinder, nipples, and clean the barrel, giving the rest of the metal a wipedown cleaning.

with corrosive powder, everytime you shoot it.i take off the grips, pop out the cylinder, and drop them in the utencil tray of the dishwasher.pop in a soap tab into the dispenser, and let it rip.lube when finished

I do a complete teardown and cleaning of each of my guns twice a year, regardless of the amount of shooting of each. I don't know if that's necessary; I only know that it's sufficient. Once a year might be enough, but I enjoy it so I do it more often.

I completely strip down my ROA (and any other C&B revolver I shoot) after each shooting session, regardless of the number of rounds fired.

I completely strip and clean my ROA pretty much every-other time I shoot it, or always after a big session. Mine is stainless and I use 777.

I'm looking into getting an ultrasonic cleaner that I can put the parts in to save some time, and then I'll completely clean it every time.
