I have 3 High Standards that have muzzle brakes, two removable one not. What is the best way to remove the hard crusty material that accumulates in them?

CLP and a toothbrush for all three. I would try that first and see how much residue remains before moving to the next stage.

CLP has no effect on the residue. I saw a bottle of "Nitro powder solvent" in a gun store. I wonder if this would work.

Neither Hoppes 9 nor an ultrasonic cleaner did anything. A steel wire brush on a Dremel tool might do it. Also, one of my AK's had the brake frozen on. I had to get it really hot to remove it. That gunk, however, was black, not tan like this stuff. ,I think I will just leave it for now. thanks for the suggestions.

Brake Cleaner spray can, pipe cleaners, a few brass bore brushes of assorted sizes, and a few small ss machine screws.
