I appreciate any info/tips on how to clean nickel finished revolvers, -especially the burnt powder rings on the front of the cylinder-, without harming the nickel finish. Thanks.

If you go to an ACE (or whatever) hardware store get a stick of Jewelers rouge. $4 will buy an almost lifetime supply. Get the red one. I believe its a bit less abrasive than flitz. IMO a bit of powder burn on the cyl. face ain't gonna "hurt the runnin of it none" so don't use an abrasive on a regular basis on a nickel or "Lieber Got in Himmel" a blue one.

Thanks for the replies/info. I don't have a nickel revolver yet. But I've been thinking about getting a 4" nickel Colt Diamondback .38 special to go with the blued one I already have.

I'm not sure they still make it. I'm pretty sure they are still available. It's called a "Miracle Cloth"They are made for Stainless, nickel etc.I bought several of these some years back. They work. They were only a couple dollars back then. They come in a plastic wrapper. They are a pale yellow colored. If you can find one I would suggest giving it a try.

Thanks for the tip on Miracle Cloth, Ruger Redhawk. I noticed on their website that their mailing address is in my hometown of Pinellas Park, FL, small world. :D

Nero you're welcome. These Miracle cloths have been around for a long time.We used to sell them at a Gunshop I use to work at.I couldn't believe how expensive they've gotten. If you're close by you probably could pick them up and avoid that high shipping. I used to see them at Walmarts. I haven't looked for any so they might still sell them.As you use them they turn black. It's says on the package that doesn't affect them that they still work.
