CMMG vs Stag

I am getting ready to purchase my first ar-15 style rifle. What do you think of a CMMG lower and a Stag Arms basic flat top upper, 16" in .223cal. Total cost of new rifle is $750.00.

Should i pony up the extra bucks and get a Stag lower?

I already have an excellent, extremely accurate bolt action .308, that is why this one will be .223 and 16".

I was toying with idea of getting an M1a SOCOM II, but it is too heavy and expensive.

What are your thoughts on this?

nothing wrong with that lower, i personally would take it over a stag lower since it won't have the dumbass deer head on it.

CMMG is a first class upper.
Only better would be a Noveske, LMT, or DD

I think you would be happy with a CMMG lower and Stag upper.

I like the fit & finish of the CMMG over the Stag...if you can save a few $$ w/ the CMMG, you'd be that much ahead of the game.
Honestly tho, I'm splitting hairs...you'd be happy w/ either ;_
