Looking to build an AR. I currently am looking at the optics ready stag model 3 upper and plan to add troy flip up sights and later on an optic. I am looking on some opinions on this upper. I live in NJ so it is hard to find a compliant rifle and stag seems to add welded muzzle breaks. I plan to accompany the upper with a spikes tatical punisher lower.

Assuming that you know what you are looking for and are just asking about the quality of Stag products, I'd rate Stag just about along side the likes of Bushmaster and Rock River.
Although I wouldn't buy one, because you could get something along the lines of a Spike's Tactical for about the same price or a bit more; those that I know that have Stags like them a lot and feel that they got a lot for their money.

Price isn't that big of a problem but finding a company that welds muzzle breaks to make it compliant is. Also I want an upper with a low profile gas block which also can be hard to find. Intended purpose is just for casual shooting and plinking
