I ordered a can of M2 ball from the CMP over 2 months ago and they still have not processed my order.

Does anyone know if the CMP is inundated with orders right now, especially concerning the new availability of M1 Garands and M1 Carbines?

Even so, I wouldn't expect an ammunition order to take this long to fulfill...

Well, I emailed them several weeks ago and got a prompt response from two different representatives there.

Both said that they recieved my order, have not processed it as of yet, and kindly asked me not to email them to get a status of my order.

Tanker, I was in the same situation when I mailed in my order a while back- apparently they had a stack of rifle orders come in, and my ammo only order got stuck in the same paper pile- the rifle orders are processed on a first come basis. I called to ask if my ammo only order got buried and could they possibly expedite it- the order was processed the next day.

Yeah, I actually called them today...

I told them I didn't want to be bothersome, understanding that they're busy and all, but come on!

She was very nice, found my order, was surprised it was as old as I said it was, and set the processing in motion. FINALLY!

Tokugawa, I think that's what happened with my order. They really ought to sort ammunition orders separately.

I just ordered a case of the currently available Greek (HXP) M2 Ball online on Friday (OCT 19) and it was shipped yesterday (OCT 24). That's actually a couple of days longer than the last couple of cases that I ordered...

They must be using different methods to ship cases compared to cans...

Once you are in the CMP system, make all of your ammo orders via on line on their E-store. Any rifle sales mail goes into a big bucket with a date stamp on it. It won't even halfway get looked at until that date come up. Your envelope might have accidently gotten dropped into the rifle sales bucket of envelopes. My usual ammo wait is about one to two weeks at most.

Two or three years ago I ordered a couple rifles and 1000rds lake city ball ammo from them. Sent in all my paperwork at that time. I assume this puts me in the system? Can I order ammo from their online site now whenever I want, or does more paperwork need to be submitted each year?

If you still have your customer number, you should be OK. You only need to fill out paperwork and resend when you are ordering a rifle. Check out their website under the E-store and it will give you all the info you need.

I thought for ALL repeat orders, you had to resubmit the Universal Order Form with a weet signature, only you didn't have to have it notarized?

Or can ammo be simply ordered from the E Store with no further documentation needed?
