cmp wait time

FYI for people currently waiting on their cmp orders. my cmp m1 carbine finally arrived. I mailed off my order late december and it arrived around april 1. roughly 3.5 months. the ammo I ordered did not come. the wait is even longer on that.

ya, the Obama effect really put the hurt on their reaction time. I see they charged my CC a few days ago for the M1 I ordered in January ... maybe it will be here before the end of April.

Same here with the ammo ... the ammo I ordered -with- the M1 didn't even make it through the order process. Some more I ordered the next day (Jan 24th) via the Estore is still -processing, but hasn't been CC charged.

thanks for the update. I think I will just make the 5 hour drive to ohio, rather than wait that long. I need instant gratification

call before you go. I saw on their website a while back they had shut down the stores to use all employees to process orders.

Camp Perry re-opened April 1st...I was there, they had plenty of Garand ammo, but heard them say they were out of Carbine ammo an wouldn't get any till at least June.

great. I've got a rifle and no ammo till june or july at the earliest. sigh. my bullet mould wont be ready until lee gets around to it either.

Even if you had the mold .... you wouldn't be able to get any primers anyway.

I'm surprised you didn't get your ammo already; they were processing that separately and had cleared most all the existing orders. [Edit to add: oh wait, you ordered carbine ammo? I think CMP is still waiting for that to me manufactured!]

CMP is slow, but not because they are lazy or government or anything; they are a great group to work with, offering a great deal, so there is massive demand for the small organization.

I just got a can I ordered mid Dec. Flawless, quality ammo... and thankfully at their pre-April prices. Should have 2 more cans coming over the next few months at those prices. Then I guess I'm stocked as much as I'm gonna be because my Scottish blood prevents me from paying $.38/rd.
