According to a newsletter article I received, the KelTec unicorn CMR-30 .22wmr carbine will be available 3rd quarter 2014. While KT announced ship dates are usually highly optimistic info like this is typically reliable. I would expect they'll meet this date to capture the run up to Christmas.

Hmmm... PRETTY COOL!

Unfortunatly, this unicorn will probably be just as hard to find as other Kel Tec guns that are supposedly available to!

And this unicorn also eats magical unicorn pellets called .22 magnum. Haven't seen much of that for sale at a good price in quite some time!

Still interested though, this would be a natural if someone already owned a PMR 30.

Ohhh, I see what you did there! You used a mythical reference keying to my unicorn reference! ;)

I just wish there weren't people who thought of that as a real word for a real thing. :(

Show me one in a store for $450 or less and I'll show you one leaving a store.

As for getting KT guns other than pocket guns...the trick is to know your price points and shop steadily. I finally got my RFB about a year ago, from a dealer. It was not the first I had handled, but it was the first at a price I was willing to pay. Of course I started watching for them in 2011 so 2 years of keeping my eyes open. I handled them when they had $2600 price tags. I bought when I found one offered for less than $1300.

I have been looking for a PMR-30 forever at a decent price! Kel-Tec has gotten lazy! They need to get their act together & more guns out the door! Ones that work, something you didn't have to worry about, like now! I own several Kel-Tec products & think their great, but lately they just are not keeping up their Quality or Availability! Hope they get it together soon!

...and Sub2K's, PMRs, RFBs, KSGs, and more will litter the ground like pebbles (in the 4th quarter :D)

The did do a better job on the moulding than the PMR; the proportions look less like something squeezed by the Incredible Hulk and more like something you chase Civil Protection through the streets of City 17 with :p

EDIT: okay, watched the vid which shows the whole gun; can you say "ant eater" barrel? :D I know, it's not KT's fault ;). Also, how long before Kel Tec puts Picatinny rails on the grip front strap, back strap, or buttpad? Seriously, I'm asking.

WRT production capacity increases - https://www.facebook.com/KelTecWeapons/posts/10152545574794640

In the last 2 years, Kel Tec has more than tripled our floor space. We've spent millions on new machinery, have gotten ISO certified...and almost doubled our workforce. Just two years ago we were happy to make 4000 guns per MONTH. Now we make 3000 per WEEK. Hang with us folks, we are getting there.

ISO certification is impressive and I'd never have expected it from KelTec.
This is my favorite caliber and I really like what I saw
Umm, not digging the name though, but at least they can poke fun at their selves.

I'll see your $450 out the door, and raise you to $500 OTD.
I do have to say, though, Hank looked like he really had to scrunch down on that rifle like the LOP was still too short.

I'm interested in it, and if I ever see factory .22 mag again, I would like to have a CMR.

Looks interesting but I agree with others who think the shoulder stock could be a bit longer and in my neck of the woods, .22 Mag. (like a number of KelTec products), is about as common as your everyday unicorn sightings. Will wait and see how this plays out.

I have been following and waiting for that rifle for 3 years (formerly designated the RMR-30). This is probably the third or fourth projected release date I've seen for it, but here's to hoping that they actually get it out the door. By the time I see one live and in person I'm sure there will be a good number of reviews already floating around the web.

Until they actually go through with the release, the order button on the page below sums up my thoughts on the subject.

And this is why it will probably take me two years (from first reported sighting in a store) for me to find a deal I am happy with. :)

I couldn't tell if he had it adjusted to max LOP. It would be a shame if you needed a pad on top of the adjustable stock. Some people tend to run short LOPs on adjustable stocks ... I guess they like the solid nose/thumb contact.

I've purchased about 1500 rounds of .22 mag in the past 6 months. WMR has always seemed very expensive (about overlapping with cheap 9mm) to me, so maybe my perception is warped when I say that I didn't pay much more than pre-panic prices. It took the panic messing with my ability to restock powder or low cost ball 9mm practice ammo to get me to buy into the WMR scene, and I still only have one WMR gun.

Perfectly in line with my expectations of Kel-Tecs ability to deliver, and to quote our resident author: "Everyone knows that Unicorns don't exist."

This is a carbine I have wanted since I saw a Grendel 22mag carbine years ago. KelTec, make it happen, I'll get one. I might even get a PMR30 to go with it.

Nice rifle. I'd like to get one when they are available (if at a good price) - but then again I'm concentrating my efforts towards other firearms related items.

As for ammo availability - Just about a week or so ago gander mountain had 200 rd. boxes of Troy Landry Choot 'em edition 22 WMR maxi-mags. They had it in stock for about 2 days on their site (limit one box a day - but free ship to store). $59.95 was the price for 200 rounds. So it is out there - but one needs to be on the lookout for it.

These should arrive at your local gun shop about the time Half-Life 3 comes out... :cuss:

Seriously, I'd love to see a PMR-30 in .22LR, but I suspect the magazine geometry issues with .22LR might be a showstopper.

I was thinking the same thing! All it needs is an under-barrel grenade launcher and a holographic sight!

I want one of these little guys, the .22 mag has some decent energy numbers from a rifle length barrel.
