I was perusing CNN which, until today, was one of my favorite news sites. They have three videos on the crime wave in Philly. The situation really is genuinely interested, because of how complex it is. One of the biggest factors is the 'no snitching' movement we're seeing, where even victims won't say who attacked them. Of course, without witnesses, the police can't do anything. And what happens when you have a lot of poor people fed images of violence and not threatened by law enforcement? Guns or not, it's a mess.

Needless to say, the image we see in all three videos states clearly, the problem is with guns. We need more gun control, the bald man clearly states, as though once the laws are written, they'll tromp on down to the rough neighborhoods and start kicking some heads in. Some tough legislation.

If that weren't enough, now the article is front page, and not much better. They do mention problems with enforcement at the end, but the gun stuff is the first problem listed. There's no difference as far as the reporter is concerned between legal and illegal guns, it's simply 'availability of firearms'.

So fellows, if you're up to it, please feel free to give them a piece of your mind. CNN is one of the news sources I always considered reasonably balanced, but this is a hit to their credibility in my eyes. Bah...

"The availability of firearms" has nothing to do with it. Everytime you hear this remember that for most of us old dudes when we were in 6th grade and up every kid owned a rifle or shotgun and carried them everywhere. No one shot anyone! We have a culture problem period!

I'll only stop on CNN to see which news agency is the slowest on any given day. That and to catch a laugh.

We all know CNN is liberal run, had backed Democratic party agendas for years, and is FOR gun control. Of course guns are the problem.

I think we have the real problem of people allowing the government to protect us, rather than using common sense for ourselves. The funny thing is, I don't see the government stepping in to stop car-makers from putting in those stupid auto-brake and parrallel parking features that take the human decision/responsibility out of the driver's seat.
