I picked up a NIB Cobra Enterprises Patriot .45 this week from my local FFL dealer that I won on AuctionArms.com. My total cost including transfer fee and shipping is $228.
The Patriot .45 is a DAO (double-action only) that holds 6 + 1 rounds. It does not have a safety nor a slide stop. This gun is almost the same size as a Kahr P9. The Patriot .45 is only .10" wider and .25" taller than a Kahr P9. It has a polymer frame and stainless steel frame.
The trigger pull is smooth and lighter than the double-action trigger on my Berretta 92FS. The trigger pull gets heavier towards the end of the trigger pull. Recoil is manageable for a .45 that weighs 20 oz. This firearm is combat accurate. When I shot this .45 during IDPA I was able to keep all my shots in the zero and one zones.
The 1st time I shot my Patriot .45 I had one failure to feed in which I had a difficult time clearing. I also had a couple misfires in which I had to pull the trigger twice to shoot the chambered round. I had this problem when shooting 230 gr. FMJ reloads.
I cleaned my Patriot .45 before shooting it a second time. I did not have any problems. I shot Federal Premium 230 gr. JHP without any problems. I had two misfires with the reloaded ammo.
I feel confident carrying my Patriot .45 as a CCW as long I keep it loaded with premium self-defense ammo. It fits many Glock 26/27 holsters. This gun is an excellent value for the money.
