I bought these two pocket deranger from a co-worker for $20 each. The only thing the guns say on them is cobray on the grip, fmj ducktown, tn, mod. d. cal. 45 on the barrel. I thought they were neat little guns so I bought them. They shoot 45 long colt and .410 shotgun through it. I just would like a little information on them.

I'm pretty sure i know what your talking about. They're black and the workmanship is a bit crude? Pretty much a novelty gun but for $20 each I would have grabbed them too. If it's the two barrel model there's a thumb switch to go from one side to the other. I do not recommend these as a carry gun. Check them over for function and try them out. Be sure to post your range report:)

What's a deranger?

When I first read this I thought either it was some new toy called a De-Ranger (no idea what that would be) or it was just a misspelling of derringer.

Are you talking about something like this?

It is what it is for the price and it's gone bang every time I've pulled the trigger.
It's fun to shoot but it's just a toy to me.
(not that it couldn't do a number on you, especially in .38 Special like mine!)

Sorry, I thought the OP misspelled Cobra in his post, that's why I posted the Cobra Derringer.

Hawk,
I have one of those and it's a hoot to shoot. I also have it in the double they make. The double will fire 3" .410 shells while the single barrel will fire only 2.5" shells. Here is the double but I haven't taken any pictures of the single yet.

I saw a couple at a local shop and actually had to ask the guy if they were made by an actual company or by some guy in his garage; crude would be a compliment.

To me it just looked dangerous and felt like it would be just as likely to blow your hand off as launch a .45 colt downrange.

Now I've never owned, nor shot one so listen to the guy that owns one- but yes, crude is just the beginning.

i carry one when on the atv for snakes. my fuel pump went out and i used the gun as a hammer,( why not) shoot it all the time with no problem.
