Visiting with the family today my brother gave me back my Cobray derringer. I remembered I quit shooting it because the hammer started falling without pulling the trigger:eek:. Took it apart and filed some on the sear and now have good solid engagement with the hammer hook. Something that I'm curious about is I can get a .012 feeler gauge in between the breech face and barrel when action is closed. Is this excessive?

I'm not going to carry this gun or rely my life on it,but I would like to shoot it occasionally.

Thanks for the help.

Cobray

I have a similar gun. They surely aren't hand fitted parts. I can get a feeler gauge in between the barrel and the breech also. It's a Cobray, kinda what I expected. I doubt whether the barrels have been jointed at all.
