Cobray Model D 410/45 Colt

Visiting with the family today my brother gave me back my Cobray derringer. I remembered I quit shooting it because the hammer started falling without pulling the trigger. Took it apart and filed some on the sear and now have good solid engagement with the hammer hook. Something that I'm curious about is I can get a .012 feeler gauge in between the breech face and barrel when action is closed. Is this excessive?

I'm not going to carry this gun or rely my life on it,but I would like to shoot it occasionally.

Cobray

I have a similar gun. They surely aren't hand fitted parts. I can get a feeler gauge in between the barrel and the breech also. It's a Cobray, kinda what I expected. I doubt whether the barrels have been jointed at all.

Is it the single or double barrel model?

Mine is the single barrel model.

I just remember those Cobray derringer kits were around $20-25 back in the 1990s.
