Good hook cane do same thing and not look out of place .
They will out reach the adverage 4" blade knife that for sure. I think CS other walking stick would be a better choice Not as out of place.

Alsotheir are special hook type fighting canes out their for a reasonable price.
I carry my sword cane at times But then again I need a cane to walk any distance.

Have to agree with MICHAEL T.

The cold Steel sticks look too out of place anywhere, kind of too much over the top. A cane from Canemasters, or a good Irish Blackthorn will go in under any radar, and be just as if not more effective. I know someone who bought the Cold Steel fake blackthorn, and the plastic covering peeled of the head of it. Cheasy build quality.

The other negative, if you use it, or it comes to the attention somehow of the "authorities", a crooktop cane will not get a second look. The Cold Steel item is marketed by a company whose merchandise is sort of off from center to start with.

Looks a little short for my taste. I would prefer something around shoulder height. I was looking at replacement hoe handles at ACE hardware for $12. Looked like one would make a very good walking stick. They are heavy enough for self defense also.

Google search for stockman's cane or go to the "House Handle Company" website. They will be hickory with a crook wide enough to be identical to the Canemaster product at less than half the price. Buy the 65" one if you like and cut to your taste. The 36" one is plenty long for me and application of a handsaw and a little planing to fit a drugstore rubber tip customizes it to my liking.
I can carry it through airport security but that's probably 'cause my knee sets off their alarm wand and the cane doesn't.
Just mention: bad ACL, MCL, torn meniscus. Lots of people like me with bad knees that don't actually hobble around all the time. I go for months at a time without needing my crutch; I go hunting, hiking, skiing and backpacking, but when my knee goes out, I need my cane to get back to the car.

I hurt my back a few months ago. I was amazed at how much easier just walking around was using a walking stick my wife bought at Colonial Williamsburg a few years ago. It was a bit slippery on vinyl, but a crutch tip fixed that. made an enormous amount of difference when trying to get up from a chair. Only used it for about a week. I don't know what I would have done without it.

I'm really not impressed with Cold Steel's poly walking sticks. They just don't feel right to me, like they're cheap plastic (which, of course, they are.) Their City Stick fiberglass one, on the other hand, is remarkable. I have the one with the pistol grip, it looks nice and wouldn't be out of place anywhere. The Micarta one would probably be okay as well, I'd avoid the skull one as I think it would look tacky and out of place in many situations (as well as drawing undue attention.) The pistol grip is stainless and quite substantial and would really work fantastic if it ever had to be used for self defense. The cane itself is stronger than I can ever imagine needing. I don't know what it'd take to break one of these but I can assure you it's more than I'd ever do even with gross abuse.

get it if you like it, does not appeal to me. I make my own.
with training and practice a good stick will defeat a knive, but remember "Doc" rules"
BE aware
Avoid
Evade
Run
But if you have to fight- WIN

Properly utilized a walking stick or cane has the definite & obvious advantage of reach over a knife.

FWIW, everything I see on that site would be considered a deadly or dangerous weapon and being caught carrying any of them could bring severe penalties.

I think that if I wanted to risk jail time for carrying a weapon, it might as well be something a lot more effective, like a Model 19.
