I am fairly new to the site and I have noticed quite a few people from Colorado on here. Now that the weather is getting nicer, would anybody be interested in a gathering of local board members? We could try to figure out a central location that would suit our needs. I think it would be fun.

Well, I live in the Johnstown area, up north. I like to go out to the Pawnee grass lands. There are a couple of good spots with good out to 400 yards. Not sure what kind of shooting you guys would want to do but that should accommodate just about anything. There are some down sides to going out there. It can sometimes be hard to find a good spot if its crowded. There is a really good public range in Nunn of HWY 85. Do you guys know of a good spot that would be a little more centralized?

Im thinking maybe late April for a date. What works for you guys?

Sounds good to me, if we're free on the selected date. Johnstown is close to a three hour drive, but that's no big deal. (I have an aunt in Johnstown, and my grandparents lived in Milliken.)

If somebody had a good bit of land out east, that would be ideal.

Our preferred place to shoot is Whittington, but that's in the wrong direction for most of you up north.

Sounds good to me. I'm in southern CO, but wouldn't mind a drive if everyone else is up north. Late April or early May is OK.

Any of you Denver guys know of a good place to shoot thats a little easier to get to for the boys down south? All my spots are up north...

38/357, 40 s&w, .270 at the moment. I have a MEC press and have done some reloading for shotguns in the past but recently I have only pulled it out for black powder and I'm not sure I did it right as most of the shells have bulges.

Also, Here in Trinidad we have the Prator range and 30 miles south, outside of Raton, NM is the Whittington Center, it is awesome. I know it is a little far for you guys up north but every shooter should go there some time, they have a museum and everything from small bore to 1000m and everything in between.

So have you been admitted to the program? I know that they Just discarded the waiting list for a criteria based admission system.

It depends on what "down south" means to you, but the Ben Lomond Gun Club near Ramah may serve your purpose. The club has chapters in Littleton, Aurora, Colorado Spring, Calhan, and Elizabeth (I may be forgetting one or two others), but the range is in Elbert county about 10 miles north of Ramah. They have several pistol ranges, a 500-yd cowboy long range (lead bullets only) and a 600-yd long range for high-power rifles. I'm fairly sure they have a shotgun range, too, but I'm not a shotgunner, so I didn't pay much attention to it.

A google search of BLGC will take you to their website.

Does anyone know any ranchers around Pueblo or Colorado Springs that would like some p-dogs evaporated? That would be about in the middle and a whole lot of fun.

Does anybody have contact info for the Ben Lomond Gun Club southeast of Castle Rock, or one of their affiliated clubs? I've never been there, but I've heard it's nice, and the web site shows some nice facilities. It's "kind of" central, or at least equally distant for most of the front range.
