Well, it happened. What happened? House Bill 11-1205... that's what!!

To my surprise, a bill has been introduced here to allow for Constitutional Carry along the lines of Alaska, Vermont, and Arizona. Here is the bill...

Here's what I'd ask you all to do... Please...

Contact a few members of our General Assembly by CLICKING HERE. Contact a few members of each the Senate and the House. Note that there are several pages there. You can contact a member of a district where you live, ski, hunt, fish, etc. by searching by district.

Wherever you reside, vacate, whatever, you can contact that member of our state legislature and let them know how Colorado's tourist economy will benefit from the passage of this law.

Also, if you are a Coloradoan, please, in addition to the above, sign the petition that you can find by CLICKING HERE.

If you'd also mention that HB1180 should be reconsidered and resubmitted to the desk of the governor, we can fight for that one too. It is a CCW permit/NICS bypass at dealer purchase.

We in Wyoming are trying to go Con-Carry right now, as well. It'd be nice to see Colorado go that way as well.

Half-bump...

I've contacted six elected servants so far. Only one had the self worth to reply. It was quite obvious that he typed the email himself, and he was indeed on our side. That is only the second time in all my years of pestering the ruling class, that one penned their own specific response to my letter(s).

I'll tell you what I told all of them...

Getting the governor's signature on this bill is not what I consider victory. Getting this bill to his desk IS.​

Hmm... seems like a surge in Constitutional Carry bills are flying around... NH introduced one too... Colorado... Doubt it will make it anywhere but I have contacted Rep. Bob Gardner who is the only Republican who has not co-sponsored the bill in the committee.

The bill is scheduled to come before committee on Feb 24th....

Thanks Ben. Let's be as optimistic as possible to at least motivate some of our fellow gun owners to contact a representative.

It looks like you got some info from RMGO. I got their email and thought I would post a snip or two of it here. I don't know if any Colorado residents, who are members here, get emails from RMGO, and I don't think I've ever seen/read anyone here claiming membership, but RMGO is a wonderful org.

Next week the Constitutional Carry bill faces it's first hurdle in the Colorado Legislature when it is heard in the House Judiciary Committee.​

On Thursday, Feb. 24th at 1:30pm the House Judiciary Committee will hear HB1205 by Rep. Chris Holbert (R-Parker) and Sen. Greg Brophy (R-Wray).

This bill already has a huge number of co-sponsors, but to reach the House floor it needs to first pass through this committee.

Thanks, but you should have read the HB 11-1205 before posting... It specifically authorizes concealed carry without a permit. Good catch, but even that bunch on Colfax isn't dumb enough to just overlook that fact.
