After you examine it and find it to be in good shape; there are nothing but positives IMHO....The price isn't too bad....Some feel that a full-size 1911 is a little too large/heavy for carry. All the aspects of the pistol, pro & con, depend on your purpose, usage, customizing, etc....

There aren't too many cons to a Colt 1911, unless it doesn't run right.
The PROs, however... It's fun, reliable, simple, and accurate. A Colt NRM Government was my first 1911 (and gun) and I still have it because it's damn fun to shoot.
I paid $550 for one last summer; a Government MK IV Series 80 bright stainless, only had 100 rounds put through it and then the owner lost interest. Also included with the deal was 3 mags, 200 rounds of ammo, and a Galco shoulder holster set up. If your going to have one 1911, it might as well be a Colt.
