So, yesterday I stumble on a 4" matte King Cobra. I have polished ones, but no matte, so I picked this one up. Judging by the lack of carbon on the cylinder front or forcing cone I don't think it was ever fired. It was looking a little "yellow" from age. A bit of Mother's brightened it right up.

Excellent! Very nice looking Colt. I especially like those stocks. :)

I have a blued Trooper MKIII 6".

Very nice.
I think those are factory MKV stocks. I think, but could be wrong , that the MKIII stocks will not fit a King Cobra. A King Cobra is essentially a MKV with a full lug barrel.

I'll sure be glad when I get to you guy's age, and I can start stumbling onto these types of firearms! I still walk fairly well, maybe have to try stumbling a little bit. LOL Nice firearm Mr. Elite.

Thanks, 788.

About those stocks...LOL...I posted that pic and it took 200+ views for someone to ask about them. Lucky Derby is correct...They are Sile brand stocks for a MK III. I had the original rubber grips off to polish the gun and stuck them on just for a pic to see how long it would take for someone to comment on them. Derby is right...They don't fit the back of the frame correctly. I sure wish someone made some stocks like that to fit the gun.

Elite, Didn't the MKV have a similar grip that will fit, although that might be hard to come by.
Eagle does have some nice grips that will work, altough not quite true Colt grips.

Beautiful gun, I really love my King Cobra. I wish Colt still made them, I would love to have one with a 6" barrel. I have never shot a python, but the action on my King Cobra is a smooth as silk. I too wish I could stumble on to finds like that! Enjoy it!
John

I've got both King Cobras and Pythons. My "pet" gun is a 6" polished KC. I've put more rounds thru it than any other gun I own. It's ate thousands and thousands of rounds and is still tight as new.
