I have feeding problems with a colt AR15 7.62x39, I have tried colt and usa mags with the same results.
It looks like it is trying to feed two rounds at a time, the round on top is being pushed too high at the nose by the next round coming forward. Then round one is caught by the bolt on an upward angle.
Any suggestions for correcting the problem is greatly appreciated.

Try the MGW mags; the Colts are hit-n-miss and the USA mags are utter junk. Some folks have had poor luck with the MGW magazines, but mine have been 100%.

Thanks rbernie, those are all plastic right? I have a couple coming tonight.

7.62x39 AR's are noterious for feeding problems.

It is caused by the much more tapered 7.62x39 case, and the fact the AR design requires a straight magazine section through the lower receiver.

Case design & rifle design coupled together are going to be hard to overcome with any magazine.
That's why 7.62x39 AR-15's aren't more widely seen.

I have had the 7.62x39 for about 8 years, never have been able to use it because of the feeding issues, from what I have read this is common with that calibre in the ar.I got the mags that were recommended looks like they may work.

I have two colt 7.62x39 uppers on Bushmaster lowers and use the 30 rnd USA mags in them. I have never had feeding problems with them. I can empty the 30 rnd mags in a rapid fire with no problems. I like the USA 30 rnd 7.62x39 mags. They have worked well for me.

The straight Colt mags that come with the Colt gun are just like .223 20 rd mags with different markings. You can only load about 6 or 7 7.62x39 before the different case taper screws up the feeding. Try 6 or 7 rounds in the straight mags.
