Any of you folks know of a confirmed source for Colt D-frame hammer shrouds and other parts?
I have a 1966 production Colt Agent coming and would like to find a hammer shroud for it.
TIA, Ray

Try posting WTB ads on the Colt forums or most any other gun forums you can think of.
I've seen a couple on gunbroker -Colt- accessories. Good luck I like those shrouded guns.

Go to snubtraining.com. They are selling the last of the Waller hammer shrouds for D frame Colts. They are not stamped with the Pony but are $35 plus shipping. You do know that installation requires drilling and tapping three holes in the frame of your revolver?

Genuine Colt shrouds bring $150 and up most of the time. Then, of course you gotta pay a gunsmith to drill the holes, which could ruin your gun if he bums up the job. Most of the time, it is better to just sell your existing gun and buy a shrouded gun.

Thanks for the responses folks. I didn't know about the holes required for installation. I may just remove/contour the hammer spur.
I've had S&W 442's but want to give the Colt Agent a try for pocket carry duty this go-round.
Thanks again, Ray

I have pocket carried S&W Chiefs Specials for going on 40 years without a hammer spur problem.

All you got do is wedge your thumb nail behind the hammer spur when it comes out of your pants!

I really hate to see any more original old Colt & S&W forged hammers hacked up by todays modern "gunfighters"!

If you just gotta have a hammerless gun, buy one!

BTW: Yes, I know it's your old Colt they don't make anymore.
And you can do whatever you damn well want too with it.
But I'm just saying!

Howdy Rc. I understand your passionate appreciation for the old Colts. This particular firearm will fulfill the role for which it was designed. This will be a concealed BUG to a Colt Government Model working armed security. Carried in a pocket holster or attached to soft body armor.
I don't appreciate what I percieve to be a snide comment ref. hacking and todays modern "gunfighters". Not sure where you're coming from with all that vitriol.
I use what I consider to be the best tools I can for the intended task. Each to his own, I reckon.
