And where would one purchase a stripped Colt lower? Not from the current iteration of 'Colt'...whatever that is these days.

LaRue Tactical

Does anyone have a LaRue Tactical such as the RISR/CTR or RAT stock they can tell me about?

The RAT stock is cool, but there are better stocks available. The cleaning rod setup is neat, but there's barely enough space for a brush, and the stock isn't a very tight for on the receiver extension.

I have a 6720 upper and prefer it to my 6920 upper colt. It's 1/7 pencil barrel in case you are wondering. I don't do any sustained fire and the thin barrel just handles a bit better and feels not as front heavy as the 6920. I have iron sights via a colt carry handle on the 6920 and eotech on the 6720. Replaced colt furniture with magpul.

To the OP. For not a lot of money you could go all magpul or other brand sock and furniture on this stripper or colt furniture for Next to nothing. I will give you a free grip if you want. And I may have a colt handguard around here. OEM colt hand guards are impossible to put anything on like a weapon light or a vertical grip.

As mentioned already you can get a 6920 magpul complete ready to run for 800-900.

If owning a Colt is important, the price of building a Colt from parts is ridiculously expensive. Better to buy in that case.

As far as building an AR15 from the ground up, I'd really rather start with an already completed lower receiver (and upper if possible) to avoid all the tiny parts and assembly (I know, I'm lazy).

Having a Colt is not super-duper important to me, I think they make a great product and Colt is an iconic brand but it's not like it absolutely has to be a Colt.

The 6920 OEM is convenient for me, it is stripped down just enough that I can put together a semi-custom rifle for less without having to go through the aforementioned assembly of the lower and upper receiver. If I am not mistaken, (and if I am, please tell me) Colt is currently the only company offering a rifle like this.
