Colt AR-15 stock question?

Im going to get the Colt le6920 but HATE the Rogers Super Stock that now comes with it. I like the Colt the most because its the most authentic, at least it was until they put this new stock on it that makes it look worse than an bb gun. I want to put the original stock on it but Im a noob and dont know if I can just buy the stock for $100 bucks and replace it or do I have to get the one with the spring and all that for $205?

You can just drop in the new stock. AR15 stocks, as long as they are all carbine stocks, (you can't go to a fixed stock without a new buffer tube) can swap out easily.

To take the stock off, pull the lever in the opposite direction and draw the stock to the rear.

You don't need the spring and buffer etc.

Your getting fleeced if you pay $100 for a standard AR carbine stock. Here's one for $30. I'm sure you can find even cheaper if you look around.

^I was looking for an authentic M4 as in Colt stock. I think those links I have are to Colt stocks. I want it as close to a M4 as possible.

You're going to pay a lot more for a Colt buttstock that is not in any way different from any of the myriad other carbine buttstocks you can get for much less money. But, hey, it says "Colt", right? Oh wait, Colt stocks don't say Colt on them.

Yes, that is the original CAR stock. It costs more because they aren't too common, and there are people willing to pay for them. Some folks like them for authentic retro builds, some like them because of the small footprint. I have been issued rifles that have them, and never liked them too much. There isn't much difference between the Type I and Type II carbine stocks, but they don't hold a candle to any of the newer stocks available.

The BCM stock MrClean linked would be a great choice and is unmarked like the Colt. The PSA mentioned earlier is good too, but is marked with PSA's logo.

Some folks like the Rogers stock, maybe you can make a trade. Whatever you get make sure it's milspec diameter like the Colt and Rogers.

Why is that? I thought Colt AR's are all milspec.
