Colt Cobra

I have a Colt Cobra probably from mid 70's to early 80 the serial C99726 but on Colts serial look up it say 1918. Has anyone had this issue?

And if that Colt Cobra was a semi auto .45acp, you would be right.
Right date by serial, wrong model gun.

If you try this link https://proofhouse.com/colt/ , and scroll down the left side menu to double action revolvers and the further to the
Colt Cobra model, I believe it will show a date of 1970 for the revolver.

Thanks but this confused me even more because a few others on FB found it to a 1973 Via the colt book. It had the same series of numbers but for 1973. I guess it's one or the other. Thank you for your help.

There is a little confusion on Colt D frames in the early 70s period when they were transitioning to the shrouded barrels and using earlier frames . Maybe Theferriswheel could shed some light on the subject

I agree with Gordon. The frame was made in 1970, but finished in '73 with the later style barrel and grips.
