Good evening,

I was wondering if I could get some assistance. I have a coworker who is selling a Colt Frontier Scout. It has a 'Q' suffix after the S/N so I know it has the duotone finish. The kicker is that it has a .22 mag cylinder.

My research has shown the duotone was only available from 1957-1958. And the .22 mag wasn't offered until after 1960. So something isn't right here, and I believe it has a cylinder that is not original. Is there any way to verify the cylinder being correct?

I know the duotone is rare but the pistol is probably worthless with the .22 mag cylinder. Can anybody shed some light on this?

Thank you for your time and expertise. I appreciate it.
