Any Ideas of the value of a Colt Frontier revolver? It may be a "New Frontier" I'm not sure yet. I know that it is 22lr, is Duo-Tone, and has adjustable sights.

It looks like this but with adjustable sights. This is not the actual gun

I've handled it but it's been a few years. It's a friend of a friend and he wants me to make an offer. I've searched but cannot seem to find a duo-tone with adjustable sights. The cheapest asking prices I've seen on the in general is around $350. Is that reasonable?

Thanks in advance!

The due tones (as your picture) are the first years of production and have Zamak frames. I never saw an adjustable sight one. The New Frontiers have steel frames, a magnet is your friend.

Found out today it's a colt frontier scout. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. If I like it I'll make him an offer.

I don't think the frame is Zamak,,,

I don't think the frame is Zamak,,,
I read it's an aluminum alloy.

I can't seem to find the article I read this in,,,
I have too dang many PDF's stashed away.

My duotone is about 48 years old,,,
It still shoots to point of aim at 25 yards.

Dad got it for my Mom right after they came out,,,
I can't tell you how many thousands upon thousands of rounds it's handled.

I had two brothers and we all shot this gun growing up.

$350 is a fair price from what I've seen on the auction sites.

New Frontier 22 Scout. 1970 to 1977. Flat top frame with Accro adjustable rear sight ramp front. Reintroduced with a cross-bolt safety in .22LR only, from 1982 to 1986. All blue finish was standard after 1985."

Well I bought it, it is a "Q" suffix. Upon handling it I figured the sights were aftermarket, and coming home and taking them off confirmed it. I can see where the factory front sight was ground flat and the barrel drilled and tapped for the aftermarket. The only thing I don't understand is the top of the receiver is flat but does not appear to have be milled. The finish is the same as the rest of the receiver.

I paid $200 for it along with 200 rounds of winchester wildcat. I'm sure the aftermarket sights ruin any collector value, but it's a cool little gun and hopefully it will be a decent shooter.

Excellent price on a good trail (kit gun) that early one is indeed aluminum unlike most other Frontier scouts.

Heck, I have seen common H&R rimfire revolvers go for $200, you got a VERY good deal! Since it's a shooter the addition of adjustable sights would not bother me in the least.

Took it out today and put some rounds downrange. It shoots pretty well. My wife and son love it so I guess it'll be staying around.

My son also put some rounds through his Rascal
