Colt Gold Cup Spring

My Colt Gold Cup 1911 comes with 2 springs - one green for semi-wadcutter and another not colored, for heavier loads.
The green spring came installed, but I plan on shooting 230 Gr. FMJ loads. Should I install the non-colored spriing?

Yes, it is for full power loads. The painted one (mine was yellow) is for target loads as you noted.

What model Gold Cup is it? Is the slide as heavy as a regular Colt 1911?
