Always wanted a Detective special and when the new cobras came out I purchased the 4.25" target model. Still have a hankerin for a snubby but they are impossible to find around here.
Is the .357 model bigger and heavier than the 38 special? I did see one, way overpriced at the local Cabelas but it had the 3" barrel and I'm looking for the 2" model.
My only reason for wanting the King is that as a re-loader I could load .38 specials in .357 brass which I already have plenty of. Would get 38 special brass if the classic Cobra was more comparable to the DS.

I don’t think the KC is bigger than the regular cobra. My KC 3 inch is on me at the cigar lounge and I almost forgot in there! Lots of HP in a small package!

Love my king cobra 3 in and it is a lot of power in a very lightweight package much much less chunky and obnoxious than an SP101 will a much much better trigger and overall feel and I would not get the 2-inch if I were you I have always hated every two in 357 I've ever had as their accuracy is horrible. The extra inch of barrel makes it a legitimate revolver with decent accuracy

Based on the lack of feedback I can only assume that specimens are just plain hard to come by all over.o_O

I checked the Colt website and it didn’t show the specs for these guns. I will say my Cobra .38 is a tad larger than a Smith J frame .38. and I would think the .357 KC is a bit larger and/or heavier than the standard Cobra.

Stay safe.

Colt had a Facebook video when the King Cobra came out. I believe the frame size is basically the same with the top strap beefed up to handle the .357.

Colt specs say a new King Cobra 3" weighs 28 oz. I was tempted by one on Armslist I could've had for $600 through FTF private sale. I decided against it since I've got enough 357/38 revolvers already despite being a good deal.

Problem is buying a gun without ever handling it is like buying shoes that way and if they pinch your toes you now have the hassle of returning them, only tenfold with a gun and at a loss to boot. Don't have a problem with an online purchase for say a 1911 but for something I've never seen, no way.:scrutiny:

The Colt King Cobra 357 it's a sweet shooting little gem with an awesome trigger.
Looks good feels good shoots good with the 3 inch barrel being enough for decent accuracy and it is surprisingly lightweight
