I just completed my first field strip of my New Agent. Previously my "newest" Colt was a Series 70. There appears to be a new twist in removing the firing pin stop and the pin itself. I had to push down on a plunger of some sort to be able to push the pin in enought to slide down the firing pin stop and the reverse manuever when putting the firing pin back in.
My question is that once reassembled, the firing pin cannot be manually pressed forward enought touch my finger resting where the firing would normally emerge and hit the primer. Is there some sort of device that allows the firng pin to move forward if a magazine and round was in the pistol allowing it to fire - or have I incorrectly reassembled the pistol?
Any insight is appreciated. Regards, Bill
