According to Colt's Dates of Manufacture by R.L. Wilson

Your Colt New Police .32 was manufactured in mid 1902.

Value is dependent on condition.

In 2001: Per the Twenty-Second Edition of Blue Book of Gun Values by
S.P. Fjestad

50% $185
60% $215
70% $275
80% $325
90% $375
95% $475

add 25% for nickel finish

Your Colt New Police .32 will be valued somewhat higher due to these values being 6 years old.

Open the cylinder. If there is a step in the chamber (looks like a dark ring toward the front) it's chambered in .32 Colt New Police, which is the same as .32 S&W Long. If the chamber is bored straight through (no dark ring), then it’s chambered in .32 Long Colt.

The .32 Colt New Police was introduced in 1898, and specifically designed for the New York City Police Department, then headed by Commissioner, Theodore Roosevelt - Later President of the United States. It was the NYCPD’s first standard revolver. Previously officers bought whatever they wanted, and some were still carrying Colt cap & ball to cartridge conversions. Roosevelt also started the first training and qualification program for that department.
