I came across a Colt Pocket nine today at Gander Mountain NIB with four mags and hard case. 399.99 I did not even know Colt made this handgun a few years ago, and know nothing about it. Is that a good price and any info about the pistol would be great.

Awesome deal

Own one 5 years ago and it shot nice, sold it when prices went up and regret it to this day. YOU GOT A STEAL!!!! I'll give you $425.

I bought one when they first came out, and sold it later on. Didn't care much for the trigger, but it shot well enough. Quite a few pointy spots that could be worked over for more comfortable carry.

I'm sure I paid considerably more than $400 when I bought it, and it only came with one magazine. Spares were impossible to find. Colts in general seem to hold their value more so than most other brands. Combine this with the fact that the Pocket 9 was only produced for a very short time, and I think you got a great deal.

Just checked Gunbroker, someone sold a Pocket 9 with 3 mags after the $700 reserve was met. "Buy Now" price was $899.

Kind of a scale-up of the DAO .380 Pony to 9mm P.
One reason the Pocket Nine did not last long in the market was a lawsuit by Kahr claiming patent infringement on the offset barrel lug/ramp that clears the trigger bar without making the gun taller. The other was a reputation for a tough trigger pull, somewhat improved in the VERY scarce Pocket Nine Elite.

that's what I read.....

Colt blatently violated Kahr's patent on the offset barrel ramp. Must have figured that their deep pockets and lawyers would intimidate Justin Moon.

They figured wrong and withdrew the Pocket 9 from the market before they got their a$$ handed to them in a sling.
