I saw a frontier scout for $500 in a shop the other day.... I looked like a nice gun but I don't have $500 :(

Huh? What's so different about that from a steel frame Colt New Frontier 22, other than the barrel rib and much larger top strap to match? Looks like approximately the same size scaled down frame. Nice looking, but I bet it is rather heavy.

Lets see....

Colt never made a ribbed barrel with a integral front ramp sight. The rear sights are similiar to an Alliason but with a leaf insert. The top strap is radically beveled and then contoured to meet the barrel. The base pin latch has flat end and a Colt emblem. The front of the frame under the barrel is square, not rounded, there is no cross bolt safety under the loading gate, the frame is nice bone case hardened finish. The barrel measures 5".....

etc....:)

Is that a Colt Accro sight, and who did the work? Oh, and very nice looking indeed.

Thanks guys,,,,

The work on this particular gun was done by Colt, as it was being assembled...

You're not the long lost great, great grandson of Samuel Colt are you? The work was done while it was being assembled? How in the name of the good Colonel did you manage something like that? Please give us the untold story of this one of a kind New Frontier.

It was done at the request of one of the Design/Engineers....

Interesting gun, no?:)
