I just took delivery of a circa 1981 Colt Python w/6 inch barrel.
It has three proof marks on the left side of the frame just on top of the crane. There's one more proof mark on the left side of the barrel on the same "line" as the other proof marks.
Other than that, the gun looks absolutely unfired. Not even a turn line.
Any idea what the proof marks are? I bought it to shoot. Here's a pic. You can almost make out the proof marks.
