Good luck!

Your best bet is to find some little old lady that doesn't know what she's got. Gunbroker will be your most likely place. Be prepared to pay more than $2000 for those.

Those kind of Pythons aren't something that you see popping up on classifieds in forums.

A 3" stainless Python probably doesn't exist. The only 3" guns I have seen are the blue Combat Pythons. These bring $3000, $4000, $5000 ... huge prices.

Gunbroker.com sometimes has stainless 2 1/2" Pythons. You might look there. These are also pricey, even compared to other Pythons.

I think I saw a 3 inch or two on Gunbroker just a couple days ago. It might still be on there. Can't remember if it was stainless or not. There should be a few 2.5 inches though.

3 inch stainless Pythons are VERY RARE. Only a handful were produced and bring some killer money.
Unless you've got money to burn stick with the much cheaper 2 1/2 inch Stainless Pythons at around $1800-$2500.;)

Good luck.

You could also take one of the garden variety four or six inch Pythons and take a hacksaw to it and cut it to any length you want. :what:

3" Python

I have a 3" Python. I don't know if it came from the factory that way or whether it is nickel or stainless steel. I requested documentation from Colt three months ago to find out how it left the factory.

If it was a factory 3" it could be emblazoned with "Combat Python" but there are others out there that dont have that on them. It is anyones guess. Just wait for your letter.

FYI: Just because the barrel is roll marked Combat Python, does NOT mean that the gun left the factory that way.
Colt sold off it's overstock of 3 inch barrels to a major parts distributor.
Many wound up on other barrel length Pythons by way of the local gunsmith. A lot of 3 inch Pythons are bogus and will show that they left the factory in a different barrel length in an archives letter. Good luck.
Also, just because it does NOT say Combat Python does not mean it wasn't a factory 3 inch.
