I have a Colt Trooper MKIII, nickel 4". the trigger was broken at the very top, above the hole where the "axel" (for lack of not knowing the proper term), goes. I usually order parts from numrich, but they are out of stock for this model. Does anyone know where I can find this part? I need the trigger assembly. Also, I noticed some of the other Colts use the same part #, but would a trigger for another Colt possibly be made to work?

Gun Parts shows that the service serrated trigger is OK for several models, but shows out of stock on all of them.

You might try Jack First (605-343-9544) but they don't have an on-line catalog.

I have no idea if Colt still has parts or not, but I would also give them a call.

Jim

You can use a trigger from any of the Mark III series Colt's.
These are:
Trooper Mark III.
Lawman Mark III.
Metropolitan Police.
Official Police Mark III.

NO other Colt trigger will fit, including the Trooper Mark V or King Cobra series, the original Trooper, or any other model.
The Trooper Mark III had a wide, smooth Target trigger, most of the other Mark III series had a narrow, grooved trigger.

Finding new triggers is "iffy".
In addition to Jack First, try here, triggers are listed, but call for availability.

Hi, Dfariswheel,

A question. Were those guns made with MIM parts? Some of them look like MIM, but I can't be sure.

Jim

"sintered" was what I remember from reading about them, but I am no expert.

The Trooper Mark III "J" frame series guns had "Sintered" steel internal parts.
Sintering is an early form of MIM technology in which parts were formed from powdered steel heated in a mold to fuse into a solid part.

Later models like the Trooper Mark V "V" series and the King Cobra used cast steel hammers and trigger, with other internal pasts still sintered.

As above ONLY Mark III hammers and triggers will work in Mark III guns, and the Mark III hammers and triggers won't work in any other model.
