I am looking at a pistol that has a older Colt slide, barrel and internals,but it has a Essex frame. The price seems right, but just do not know a lot about Essex. I know they have been around for a long time. Over the years I have seen several of these "mash-ups" this one being one of the better blends. So, anyone have any experience with Essex frames? I think it is a cast frame, but since I really want it for a .22 conversion not sure that it matters.
