I just traded locally for a Colt upper. This is for my kiss rifle.
Specs:
A2 20"
Bayo lug and flash hider
Bolt marked "C"
Upper marked "C M"
Bolt with circle "C"
FSB is a "B" in a diamond
Appears the forward assist is larger than my other ARs
Barrel is C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7. Appears to be a HBAR, but when you pull the hand guards it is govt profile underneath.
Nothing appears to have been modified/tinkered/bubbad.
This is my first Colt upper. My concern is the gas key is not staked. Is this normal for Colt? I know how to stake it, I just wonder if its necessary? Does Colt do anything different than other AR manufacturers in this regard? There are no tool marks inside the hex screws that hold the key on and the same amount of wear as on the carrier rails. Nothing to hint that its been replaced or messed with.
I savvy ARs and have built many, but no experience with Colt. Any and all info is appreciated.
Also need the link on BSZ for a 20" at 25m.
