I either want a colt stainless series 70 1911 or a dan wesson pointman seven. You choose! I'm gonna get a better sight, grips, beavertail, and thumb safety for BOTH guns if they dont have it. I dont care about the prices of THESE guns, but what one will serve me better? NO AMBIDEXTRIOUS THUMB SAFETIES!

I have 10 Colts 1 Dan Wesson bobtail Want to guess what I am carrying right now .
I like my Colts But the DW beats them in fit ,finish, trigger, and accuracy . my next new 1911 will be another DW.

I have a Dan Wesson Commander sized CBOB. Standard with Beavertail, extended mag release, night sights, extended thumb safety (non-abmi), fitted match barrel/bushing, polished feed ramp etc. and put together very tightly (may require a bit of shooting for break in like many tight fitted 1911's)!

Very good high quality gun at a great price (I paid 850 I think for mine, PM-7 may be about $100 more). In my opinion it is one of the best deals out there for a quality .45 with out going for something like an Ed Brown, wilson combat, nighthawk custom etc (at least half the price of those if not more depending upon which one)

Its not the pointman 7 you are looking at but if that is anything like mine youll be happy. The customer service I hear is outstanding as well. I have only had a few FTF due to a poor magazine and I hear they are shipping better stainless ones now.

Just ordered a DW Classic Bobtail yesterday. I already have carry pistols and home defense firearms. I was looking for a nice, quality 1911 that was made well and tight fitted. I wanted to be able to break her in gently and end up with a reliable and accurate 1911. I think the bobtail was the way to go for me.

I do not have a colt but do have a PM7. Have shot both though. The PM7 is a pleasure to shot and look at. Accurate as can be. Almost magically accurate. Perfect trigger. Tight like . . . never mind.

Anyway, I think both are good, but I think the PM7 is better made. The Colt name is worth something and will hold its value better.
