I'll go new every time. New Colts function. Way better built than yesteryears Colts.

If the MIM bothers you replace it. I generally go over every single part in a 1911 anyways. Anything wonky get fixed or replaced. Ain't no casting or mold lines in my 1911's, LOL.

Like I said, "I have both and I truly can’t tell the difference." Of course, they are not factory.

Perhaps you should go find a factory series 70 and a factory series 80 and compare them before dismissing out of hand my assertion that there is a noticeable difference. Because, in my experience, there is.

I'm accustomed to Glock triggers, even ran NY trigger (heavier pull) for years, have since (recently) gone back to standard.
I had to increase trigger weight on my 1911's - slow fire okay, timed pairs / fast shooting resulted in shots being fired before I intended (unacceptable).
Now my heavy "Glock finger" doesn't discharge the 1911's without my intent when shooting with about 1/3 second between shots.
"Glock finger" is strong, especially after a couple decades of NY trigger.

And I don't care what anyone says, that firing pin stop absolutely ruins the beautiful trigger pull the series 70 has.

I’m not sure how “absolutely ruins” and “noticeable difference” are the same.

And I’m not sure why I would want to go find a “factory trigger”.

Also, I promise that I am not dismissing anything “out of hand”

Have a great day!

You'll know what I mean when you do.

On both counts.

And too late, you already have.

Have a great day!
