I got a great deal on a used used .50 caliber barrel for my .54 T/C Renegade, so now I'm looking at bullet and ball molds to accommodate the new caliber.

I see that Lee Precision makes a combination .50 cal 320 grain R.E.A.L. bullet & .490 round ball mold. I'm assuming that the mold has two cavities. This looks like an ideal choice for me; has anybody tried one?

Have several, thry work fine IF you pay attention to the needs of aluminum mold blocks. Specifically, you must lubricate the sprue cutter CAREFULLY to avoid galling.

That minor need seen to, the lees will last a long-long time.

I've got lots of Lee molds. My .457 conical for my old army has molded MANY rounds. I have but one that casts round ball and conical. It's all brass and boy does the handles on that thing get hot! :D But, it works fine. It's for my .31 pocket Remington. However, I've found that 00 buck shot shoots great and it's already molded, so ***? A sack of 00 lasts forever. :D I honestly don't shoot the gun that much, though. It's more of a safe queen.

Don't know about the Lee double-cavity moulds with a ball and conical.
When I saw your title, I thought you meant those little brass moulds for revolvers, that throw a ball and conical.
Yikes! Every try to use one of these? Those tiny handles are clumsy to grip with gloves and they're too hot to use bare hands.
Wonder how the old-timers managed?
