Cam, thanks for having Clint Lake on from Buckeye Firearms yesterday, live from the SHOT Show. Clint and I instruct CCW classes together! Several of us BFA leaders were watching at the time and loved it when you said "everywhere we go, Buckeye Firearms is there!!":D We try!

My pleasure Linda!

On Cam and Co. tonight, the latest from Pennsylvania, Indiana, Missouri, and Washington State, as well as a look at Browning's new offerings on display at the SHOT Show.

On Cam & Co. Tuesday, January 16th:

Instapundit himself, Glenn Reynolds, on his NY Times op/ed piece about Greenleaf, Idaho and the ordinance "suggesting" every household have a firearm for protection.

Also, Dr. Timothy Wheeler on the new Harvard "study" that says states with more gun ownership have higher homicide rates.

David Hardy from armsandthelaw.com, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation President Jeff Crane, and more from the 2007 SHOT Show (including a look at the new offerings from Thompson/Center.

Sorry for the late posting, but we've been scrambling with a couple of last minute guests.

On the show tonight, a must hear: Steven Halbrook, attorney with the NRA, on the motion just filed in New Orleans to hold Mayor Ray Nagin in contempt of court.

Also, we'll continue our look back at the SHOT show, talk to Kenny Jones (sponsor of the Castle Doctrine in MO), and take a look at some legal questions during the Civil Rights Roundup (our weekly segment with the folks from the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund).

Hi Cam!

marti Oakley here. I just logged onto this site and wanted to let you know that I will be writing an additional article for the St Cloud Times following up on the 2006 UN event.

I also publish my own small paper which is reflective of many political perspectives. As I told you during our brief chat, I am a flaming liberal by standards. I consider myself an American first and protecting our Constitution and Bill of Rights is foremost in my writing. I will be listing links to the NRA and to Gunowners in my private publication.

My subscribers list is around 3000 right now, and growing. I would like to have your permission to list your show in my paper and Program scheduling. If this is possible, please email me.

For the record.....your comment that we would probably only agree on about 5 % of the political issues was not accurate. I judge each issue and law based on its affect on our rights and liberties, and if that falls into right or left camps I really don't care.

I did a head count of a large Sportsman club here in my area....said to be a conservative stronghold....and found that of 440 members of this, 372 consider themselves Democrats. As I told you, I am a flaming liberal by standards. i consider myself a flaming constitutionalist. There are politicians on both sides who have worked to repeal the 2nd. There are radicals on both sides. I don't like the labeling thing.....none of us are all one or the other, none of us can be that precisely defined.

I would sincerely like to include your scheduling broadcast in my publication.
Could i send you our next issue which is due out about the 3rd? That way you can look it over and see what we are about.

Marti Oakley

To Cam...

I hope I didn't scare you off with my interview. I had just come from a huge sportsman's club meeting where some woman was whining about not wanting to be shot. So who would she know that does???

Midway I launched! She claimed she couldn't hear what I was saying.......like that was any real possibility...so I jumped up on a chair and yelled....CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW??

One thing I would ask of you. Please! Please stop trying to define this as a right/left or conservative/liberal issue. I have found just as many pieces of legislation sponsored or co-sponsored by Republicans, and then of course are the provisions in the Patriot Acts 1 & 2, and section 1042 of the John Warner Defense Authorization Act which allows the president to declare an emergency at his "discretion", even if no one else thinks there is one......and then conscript our local law enforcement and Guards and use them against us for protesting, dissenting, or otherwise becoming an "undesirable". First order of business should this occur, is the immediate confiscation of guns even if this has to be accomplished by house to house searches.

The Patriot Acts and Warner Act are both Republican authored.

Now to this Peters woman.........I went to the NRA website to see if there was a DVD of the forum from last summer that you spoke of. I didn't find that but did find the text summary. The NRA and other groups that were there fending off this attack should be commended for standing their ground.

I have one wish before I get to old to do it.......I want to debate this obnoxious woman! There was not one argument that she posed on behalf of banning guns in the US that I could not have immediately taken apart.

Someday!....................Marti Oakley

Marti,

No. you didn't scare me off. Heck, by most people's standards 90% of my family would be "flaming liberals". I'm used to it. Plus, you're great on my #1 issue. :)

Sorry for the lack of show updates, by the way. I've had to do some traveling, but I'm back in the mix now.

On tonight's (1/23) show, you'll see and hear from some of the anti-gun mayors in DC, as well as get the other side from Larry Keane with the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

We'll have a live update from the trial of two PETA employees charged with felony cruelty to animals in North Carolina, and a couple of armed citizen stories that are not to be missed.

Tomorrow's show is going to be a "Best of the SHOT Show" feature, and then beginning Thursday we'll be broadcasting live from SCI in Reno! There'll be a special live broadcast time on NRAnews.com from 3-6 p.m. Eastern, but we'll be replaying the show at its normal time of 9 p.m. Eastern online and on Sirius Satellite Radio as well.

Cam and Company on my Ipod please

Cam,
Love the show when I amble to listen to it, sucks that they move the time slot. I know you can “replay the previous nights show” from a computer but I would like to see a small archive of shows in MP3 format so that I can listen on my ipod while I’m up and moving around at work. I know that Sirius makes a unit that records/buffers shows to replay later however given the choice of $300 for that or $300 for a new pistol, ammo, reloading supply’s I would prefer to use the current device. Can you blame me, the safe is hungry!!! Any chance of the shows in MP3 format?

Vince,

Honestly, I'm hopeful that it will happen sometime in 2007, but the decision to do that is above my pay grade. :)

On the show tonight, the latest legislation in Texas, Massachusetts, and Kansas. An update on Armed Pilots, and a talk with a North Dakota State Representative about one of Mayor Bloomberg's cohorts. Plus the Deal of the Day, more from SCI, and a few surprises.
