I picked this gun up from the WAC gun show in Puyallup, WA for $500. Do any of you know much, if anything, about this gun? Brought her home cause I always wanted a Tommy Gun, and yes I know that its not an actual Tommy Gun... in fact its known as "the poor man's Tommy Gun"

Here are a couple pictures of the 9mm replica:

Theirs alot of weird about that gun being a replica Thompson. Though i must say sweet.

The more analytical side of me says that the bolts on the side not the top [o.0] the hand grip looks awful [ o.0!] the frames to big [o.0!!] AND it's 9mm [o.0!!!!!!!!].....[!]

okay i've had my fun. nice find how're the sights?

I realize that this isn't a carbon copy of the Tommy, but its still pretty cool.

nice find how're the sights?

Not in the greatest of shape, but I would be shooting from the hips anyways

I'm thinking about getting a "tommy gun" kit for a 10/22.
There is no way I could get a real one. So who really cares what caliber the toy is in.

Although for that price it would be hard to put together the 10/22 for less!
good pick-up.

How many rds does the mag hold? Just the one mag? Are the mags compatable with anything else?

I believe the magazine holds 30 rounds. Unfortunately, the gun only came with one mag. I hear that the .45 Commando Marks use m3 grease gun mags, but I'm not so sure about the 9mm. Oh how I wish that there was a drum out there for this gun! :banghead:

As I recall the ATF ordered these out of production because it was too easy to convert them to full-auto.

There is a .45 version at Mitch's Gunshop , in Hamilton ,MS. Don't remember what he wanted for it.

Yep, Volunteer arms liked to make open bolt semi's.

i bought one in the early 80's when it first came out,in 45 acp. mine was the biggest piece of garbage i ever saw. it constantly jammed & would not feed right. it was sent back to commando arms twice & still malfunctioned. i sold it in 1983 & found something a little better; an hk91.......

i had one in .45

it wouldn't feed anything my buddy now deceased and i tried no

less than 12 different configurations to try and make it feed.

tried converting grease mags tried different bullet weights and

shapes.

forget it.

mine

I picked up one of these last summer for $425and it came with a pouch of 5 mags. I believe they are sten mags. If I load all 30, the first one usually jams. If I load 25 they all feed fine. It's kind of ugly but alot of fun. I do need a speed loader to save my thumb!

awesome way to make a first post. Offer a guy half what he paid for his new gun. Maybe someone will find that email that you so nicely linked to...
