I know that FN made them
Hasqvarna made them
Other than Zastava, does anybody still make them?

Mitchells mausers imports the Zastava 48/63
Remchester imports them as the 798

And I really a number of their rifles the entire line looks really nice.
I think the 48/63 would turn heads during deer season.

Not looking for mauser style or mauser based, I'm talking straight Mauser action as in the Old Browning Safari used to use the FN 98 action.

I'm pretty sure Zastava and Mauser themselves are the oinly current producers. Apart from small custom shops like GMA which I wasn't aware of. I hate to think what those cost but boy would I love one

That's true. In relation to my want of a high grade mauser rifle I think my spare kidney is redundant in fact.

However that's one damn fine rifle you have there Hizzie

I remember calling an outfit in Shotgun News, the had new manufacturer M98's. Before I could open my mouth the guy on the phone cut to the chase by telling me how much one of those new, and I think they were German, actions cost. It was at least one thousand maybe $2000.

After fainting, I told the guy thanks for the information but the price was a little out of my league.

It was less costly to find a FN Deluxe, though I never found a true Magnum sized Mauser action suitable for the 375 H&H. So I got a M70 push feed.

I did a search and Empire Arms seems to have M98's with the three position safety.
