Zastava M48-63

I was browsing Zastava's sight and ran across this nifty rifle. It's a newly manufactured M-48/63. I thought the M48s were long forgotten, by the Serbs and no longer manufactured, but am wholly wrong. I vaguely remember Mitchell's Mausers, carrying them or something similar for a while and low and behold they still stock them. However for 595.00 I believe I can do without. Never thought too highly of Mitch's Mausers at any rate, but that is a whole other can of worms I suppose. Anyhow,I just felt it to be a bit odd to be in production. I can rescue Bubba'd Mauser, for much less, and have something I feel is of comparable value. I'd be a buyer, though for a bit less, but that's wishful thinking at best. Still a cool little rifle, for someone with disposable income, to rid of.

It's interesting. I noticed Mitchell's Mausers offers an "M63 Tanker Mauser" .243Win and .30-06 Springfield. I really wouldn't mind one, but not really willing to shell out $600 for one, especially already having both an M48 and M48A.

Knock off $200 and I'm all over it.

Yeah I wish K-Var ( or any other Zastava Dealer) would stock them so I could gauge Mitchell's pricing, they might be getting themselves a bit more on them seeing as they have the only ones in stock that I can find, or maybe not. If they can be had for less I'd like to own one. But for 600 I'm over it.

I have one.
Acquired it for the .30-06 caliber, the shorter length, and the all-machined (no cast, no MIM) construction.

Desires & needs frequently dictate what we're willing to pay, and it can be a nice little truck gun.
