A month or so ago I picked up a new Glock 22 and did not have a holster for it. I had planned to get a VM-II as I have been very happy with the one I have for my 1911's. Was not able to locate one with out a long waiting period as I am a lefty there were none in stock anywhere. So I started looking for other holster options. I looked at a number of products over the net from a large number of makers and just could not find what I thought I wanted. Then I went to the Comp-Tac home page and found something a bit different and interesting.
I have used Comp-Tac products on a couple of ocasions the C-Tac, and was very happy with the customer service and the product, although the kydex IWB is not as comfortable as leather. So I figured I would just order a C-Tac for my new Glock and be done with it. But on their home page I found a new holster called the Minotaur Hybrid. It looked worth further investigation so I picked one up. No long waiting period here, I phoned in my order and had a holster in hand within the week. Now that is great service! I began carrying the Glock in the Minotaur on a daily basis and have been doing so for about a month now. This is the most comfortable holster I have ever used!!! I know, some will say (me included) that guns are suppose to be comforting not comfortable but it is much better after 8-10 hours if they are comfortable as well. Not only is this holster very comfortable but in does it's job very well also; the gun disapeers under a shirt, is held securely in place and the draw is very smooth and fast.
The Hybrid part comes from it's use of plastic and leather together in the same design. The sweat shield is leather and the pocket of the holster is formed from kydex. It uses forward and aft belt clips that spread the load of the gun over a wider part of the body and make for a slimmer profile as well. You can also adjust the holster for different hights and cant-angles as well
Okay I am not a professional gun writer - that should be obvious - and I don't have some high speed back ground. But I am a professional firearms instructor with 23 years of military service and some time teaching civilians as well. This is the best (for me) holster I have tried for CCW use. More positive stuff; the cost of the holster was about 2/3 that of a VM-II, you can change the kydex portion for a variety of guns did I say it was comfortable.
