Well I just dropped the cash for an MVP, 18 inch barrel. On the used rack for $400! 10 days until I can bring it home.
 
Another (late) vote of support for the CZ Carbine. And for the record, scoping them isn't an issue unless you insist on slapping on whatever set of low rings and large-ocular scope you might have laying around. 42-mm A/O objective on mine, good bolt clearance, good cheek weld, fits and shoulders just as well for me as my Varmint.

I'm a big fan of the Howa 1500 rifles. I own two Howa 1500 hunting rifles in .223 and 30-06. Both are sub-1/2 MOA rifles @100 yards which is a very accurate hunting rifle.
 
Ordering a bushnell 4.5-18 AR series scope for this rifle, will low rings clear the 40 mil objective or will I have to go with medium rings.
