Why doesn't Glock sell a compact .45 acp? I know they make one in .357sig, .45gap and .380acp(besides the .40 and 9mm). But It seems to me they'd sell a lot more of the .45acp than all three of the above mensioned combined. I know I'd buy one. Of course If they offered a slimeline 9mm I probably would buy one of those too.

I just bought my first Glock (26 I wanted a 36 but I was in the right place at the right time NIB $435)But before researching the glock models I'd decided I wanted the compact .45acp(which they don't make)

I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist however,
The only reason I can come up with is to persuade people to purchase the .45gap as a marketing ploy?

I'd post pictures of mine but If you've seen one Glock 26 you've seen 'em all............This on is just MINE. Any imput is much appreciated.

For a "compact" .45acp....what's wrong with the G36, G30, or the G30sf? BTW, you got a great price on the G26 - it is my favorite Glock.

It is quickly becoming my favorite too. There is nothing wrong with them they are all great. But if it is being implied that there is no point in making a compact because the subcompacts and full sizes are enough why do they make the other compact modles?(23, 19, 38, 25 and 32) I'm just curious it seems like a money making product for the company(to me) there is plenty of competition that does not completely have the market cornered.

I've wondered this as well. It is probably, as stated above, the G30 is about the same size as the 19.

I like the midsized M&P45 more though.

I wish glock would make a .22 pistol. I don't really like conversion kits.

When Glock first released the Glock 29 & 30, they were marketed as "compacts".
When Glock released the Glock 36, they started calling the Glock 29, 30 & 36 as "subcompacts".

If you compare the size of the Glock 29, 29SF , 30, 30SF & 36, they are closer to the size of the compact sized Glock 19, 23, 25, 32 & 38, then the subcompact sized Glock 26, 27, 28, 33 & 39.

So, if you disregard the Glock marketing scheme and go by what size they are, the Glock 30/30SF & 36 are the Glock compact .45ACP.

I will admit I've never held(or even seen) a g30 or g30sf, However I did look it up and it seems to be about right in the middle of the compact and subcompact I knew the .45(subcompact) modles were larger to accomidate the larger round however I thought a meer 5mm or so not 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. that helps. I suppose next time I'm at the local gun shop I'll have to ask to see one. I had a friend with a g36 it didn't feel any bigger than my 26(at least not to my memmory) however The slim frame probably helps to make it feel that much smaller. Thanks for the insight.

I think it has partly to do with reputation. Every Glock currently made is accurate, easy to shoot, and reliable. If they start making stuff to compete with pocket guns, they'll end up with a lot of the same problems as other manufacturers. And the signature light weight may become something of a liability.
