I just picked up a 4" S&W Model 13. It's a wonderful shooter and really begs to be carried. I just ordered my second IWB holster from http://www.concealco.com/iwb_revolver.html for the M13, now I would like a more compact set of grips for it. At heart, I'm a purist, blue revolvers should be clad in wood grips, but when I shoot, rubber grips feel so much better! The M13 is currently wearing a very servicable pair of Pachmayr Grippers, but I would like something a shorter and narrower. If only uncle mikes still made their square butt boot grips:banghead: I have seen the uncle mikes grips on a few auctions on GB and ebay, but the price normally rises to the $40-45 range once you add in shipping. For that price I'm going to toss in a few more $$$ and and get a set of craig spiegel grips!

Any thoughts on compact, reasonably priced rubber grips???

Check out CDNN. They have Hogues for your K frame for $17 now. depends on what Pachmyrs you have but the Hougues are more compact that the large ones. Check the website often as their inventory changes.

The Hogues ain't that small, but I like 'em a lot. I have 'em on my 4" M10 and my 3" Taurus 66. I carry the 66 some in a Hume JIT belt slide and the grip, big as it is, tucks in tight. It's at least thin, so it really doesn't bulge. The Pachmayr Compac is smaller, but I looked 'em up and I don't think they make it for a square butt K frame. They make it for the K frame, but the only one I could find was for a round butt.

Congratulations I have a 13 as well and its a dream to shoot. I will be following Im real interested on your feedback on the holster you just ordered as well as the one you already have. I put Houges on mine originally then decided I wanted the Pachmyer compac pro this involved me "modifying" mine into a round butt. I figured I dont plan on selling it so I wanted it to fit me. Its now awesome and just feels right in my hand.

Concealco is backed up 10-12 weeks:( My first Concealco is AWESOME! It is for my 2.75" Ruger security six. It is the most comfortable holster I own. The quality and service of of their products is first rate.

Gents, quest is over! I have taken Brian Williams up on his offer of the uncle mike's boot grips. Once I get my holster from concealco, pics of the whole CCW rig will follow.
