NSFW as there is bad language in the comments
You'll see how a complete moron can own a firearm and screw it up for everyone who likes to shoot. This kind of stuff really gets me going as the guy in the video has no idea what he's doing in terms of safety and only cares about his image, not shooting.
Its funny cause I'm sure that what he's doing is entirely illegal, he's shooting in his back yard in LA! Its too bad that someone couldn't report him to the authorities..

What do you guys think?

The only thing I saw was finger on the trigger before he was aimed up and some traffic in the background. It looks like he picked a bad location, probably illegal. But I didn't see anything within 100yds on his line of fire, he kept the gun pointed in a safe direction...maybe dumb, but not huge dumb.

You want dumb with guns, watch this.

I don't care how funny it is, that is irresponsible shooting.

Well, pistol bullets loose ALLOT of their destructive ability when they hit the ground, so even if they jumped up, it is very unlikely that they would have severely harmed anyone. Still reckless and stupid and his comments say more about his intellect then his video.
BTW. He didn't even know what he was shooting. Video says he's shooting a Makarov but the gun he was shooting was actually a PA-63..

A while back, someone posted video of kids that were shooting one volunteer with some bullet proof vest on. Anyone recall or have that link? Darwin dropped the ball on that one.

All he needs to do is point the gun slightly upward or to the left, and the cars and people in the background are in deadly danger. Those passing cars appear to be less than 100 yards away. If any sane gun owner was in one of those cars, they'd consider themselves within the line of fire. Meanwhile, he's probably a terrible shot considering the circumstances.

that is VERY unsafe.
I know where that is, by the way. It is the 110 freeway heading into pasadena in LA. that part of the 110 is considered a historic scenic route.

that is VERY illegal shooting. #1, discharge within city limits. #2, discharge within 100yards of a road or highway. #3, given that that is 9x18, most likely steel jacketed... illegal use of steel jacketed ammunition during red flag fire season.

Do you think we could get LE aware of this guy? From his comments, he sounds very deserving of some jail time. It's just highly illegal, and he feels as though he's "special" or something, so he can do whatever he wants - regardless of whether or not he's endangering other people.

Some here may not approve of what I just did...

...but I sent a link to his YouTube account to the California Highway Patrol.

A guy who operates firearms in this manner will have them taken away... either because he caused a tragedy through his carelessness, or because a more responsible citizen took action. I chose the latter.

If anyone disagrees, ask yourself this: Would you feel comfortable if it was your spouse and children on that highway while MrTiko08 was shooting his "Germany Makarov?" I would not.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to you from Pennsylvania in order to report what may be illegal activity occuring near one of the highways over which you may have jurisdiction, and which may possibly place the travelers on that highway in danger . The activity in question is discharging a handgun in close proximity to passing traffic on a roadway. This activity was documented by the very person who performed it on the YouTube video site. The user's claims in his profile to reside in the East Los Angeles area.

I am sorry that I have no further information to give you, other than that provided to the entire world by "MrTiko08" through his internet postings. Being personally familiar with the safe use of firearms, I am appalled by this user's irresponsibility, and wish only to prevent a possible tragedy due to negligent misuse of firearms.

That's just the kind of stuff that gives gun owners a bad name, why do people insist on taking pictures of thier stupidity, at least if they are doing stuff like that, don't put it online, it will come back to haunt them someday. With these camera phones no one is safe from thier bad behavior

All he needs to do is point the gun slightly upward or to the left, and the cars and people in the background are in deadly danger. Those passing cars appear to be less than 100 yards away.

He doesn't need to do anything. Ricochets from the dirt ground is enough to sent bullets flying every/anywhere.

Of course, when he draws it from his, er, "holster," he sweeps the cameraman.

I shoot in my backyard but its a .22LR subsonic and cb caps out of my Marlin bolt rifle.I always make sure my shots go to the ground because my yard is 80 feet by 40 feet but I have a back stop and make sure all the shots are in the ground or something that will stop the little 40 grain bullet from going any further because all I do is plink alittle to get some target practice and fun of shooting a .22
I could get away with shooting a .38 special but I wont put peoples lives in danger because there is nothing I have as a backstop that will stop a .38 and even if I had it would still be too dangerous because of its power.
Those people on youtube are ignorant because they are underestimating the power of a 9mm short and a .44 magnum even a .22 is borderline dangerous when shooting in that type of setting they where shooting at.

Easily my favorite: Be Sure of Your Backstop

Not even close to the same thing. The .50 BMG guy was at an established range with a more than adequate backstop. What happened there was a ricochet from shooting a steel plate, which a lot of us do as well. That was a freak accident and NOT a safety violation.
