I am considering my Colt 1903 as an alternate carry weapon (please ignore the caliber question!) but am not finding IWB holster choices I like. Anyone have any recommendations? For the record, I aware of the pocket holster option and have thrown my name into the K&D holster promotion.

HUCK,
since you are in Oregon you might wanna give Ron Graham a try...I am not sure if he has a "pattern" for that weapon but it doesnt hurt to ask...

1903 "patterns" are hard to come by..I dont have one either, but with Ron being as close as he is, you could send him the weapon and not be without it for an extended amount of time..

You just wasn’t around at the right time ….

I can probably get you a pattern, but you still wouldn’t have a gun if you wanted to mold the leather. I have a fair-sized collection of old holsters, but even so finding one for these older guns can be a problem. Because the old Colt 1903 and 1908 Pocket Models are so thin they carry well in an IWB holster, and in my view are still a good choice for that purpose.

Anyway if you want a pattern send me a P.M. and I’ll see what I can do.

old Fuff,

"pattern"=gun, not a holster...you can make a holster from a tracing but you cant fit it nor hand bone it... But thank you for the offer, I appreciate it...Even a rusted up "paperweight" can be used to bone a holster if the outside shape is still there..

Your right, some of those older pistols would be very good for IWB carry...Last year I made a pocket holster for a remington pocket pistol...I am not sure what caliber but I think it was .380...

Really well made and very flat...I think some of these older designs should be updated and reoffered...The market is certainly there for them..

To shape a holster does not require using a dummy pattern gun or a rusted paper weight. It only requires a plastic "baggie".

These are also neat for carrying guns around water or in dusty or sandy conditions. You can even fire through the "baggie" if necessary.
